Visalia Ransacker event is TONIGHT, live stream available

Investigator to speak about never before revealed information

Tonight at 6 pm, retired Visalia police detective John Vaughan will reveal information about the Visalia Ransacker, aka the Golden State Killer, during a free community presentation at the College of the Sequoias.

The event, to be held in the Ponderosa lecture hall immediately west of the COS Theater at Mooney Blvd and Noble Avenue, hopes to answer the many questions that still remain about the crime spree from the mid-1970s that shook the community. Vaughan said the public will finally hear the stories and learn the investigative techniques used during that intense and confidential investigation, with no questions from the audience off limits. The Good Life columnist Terry Ommen will serve as moderator of the event, which will offer the opportunity to ask Vaughn questions at the conclusion of the presentation.

Those unable to attend in person will be able to submit questions and watch the event as a live stream, which will be available using either YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/user/costvstudio?app=desktop or Zoom at https://bit.ly/COSRansackerEvent with the links going live at 6 pm. Those without a Zoom account may need to download the app to watch using that channel. YouTube will not require any downloads. The event will also be available beginning April 8 for those interested who weren't available for the live event by going the same YouTube link.
